A–UDIT

Begin to assess your felt sensations and identify their messages.

Our sensations can manifest as tension, contraction, pain, elevated heart rate, shortness of breath, buzzing and other felt experiences.  As these sensations are identified, we can begin to ask the body what it’s been holding, what it needs, what it’s trying to alert us to, and how the energy and emotion it’s storing can be acknowledged, processed and released. This is how we learn to reclaim our emotional, physical and psychological state.

Prepare yourself for this meditation by setting yourself up in a private, quiet and comfortable space. If possible, dim the lights or place something like a sleep mask or eye pillow over your eyes.

Make note of anything that stood out or called out to you during the meditation. Messages, memories, sensations, visions, feelings, etc.

Once sensations are identified, we can begin to ask the body what it’s been holding, what it needs, what it’s trying to alert us to, and how the energy & emotion it’s storing can be acknowledged, processed and released.

  • What is familiar about this – when have you experienced this feeling before?
  • What were you looking for or what did you need when you first felt this way?
  • What do you recall doing (or not doing) to avoid this feeling this way, to keep yourself safe or to soothe yourself?
  • Where and how are you replicating the above coping strategies now, in your life currently?
  • What belief might this pattern/behaviour enforce and reinforce?
  • What feelings, emotion or energy would you like to acknowledge and release?
  • What does your body need to release this energy?
